I got Pacman, Tetris, Digdug, Crossfire, Tunnel, Snake, Worm... Etc! They all run an VMS! I LOVE IT! If you are interested just go to: UBVMSD.CC.BUFFALO.EDU There is an anonymous FTP site there. (I just saw the address a week ago and used it. Sorry for repeating it so soon) Now, Here's my tips... FIRST, go to the directory MASLIB/GAMES/LIBRARY and get the the pieces of the programs there and compile them. The file there compiles into the resources for UTIL.OLB, and INCLUDE.PEN & INCLUDE.OLB. You will need these resources (though you never actually have to run them) in your directory to compile the programs. SECOND, try using an mget command, with the qualifier *.* when you get a file. The multiple get command saves a LOT of typing! Third, Append the files in your directory and use the '@' symbol and the name of the file you combine them into (Ok... you probably knew that, but I had to repeat it anyway.) Forth, Look at the files it creates. Usially there is a Build.Com created. Just issue the command @BUILD and it makes the game. Fifth, just Run It! Everybody probably knows this INFO already, but this is for the 1% that didn't. no flames please. If this helped I'd love to hear from you! The sources are written in C and are available by anonymous ftp at ftp.gmd.de in the "/if-archive/games/source" directory as "dungsrc.lzh." The only change that you need to make to the sources to get them to compile is to provide a string constant containing the directory and name specification of the encoded data file (i.e., "DSK_PATRICK:[PATRICK.DUNGEON]DTEXTC.DAT"). I can't remember which file this is done in, but it will be obvious to you because that file won't compile until you supply the string constant. The biggest problem I had was finding an LZH decompressor for VMS. I ended up using a MS-DOS version that left an extra character in every file (which I had to remove, of course). It's also worth mentioning that you will need a copy of uudecode to uncompress the data file.
